More Great News!

The Duke board met Saturday to discuss my case. I just got off the phone with Dr. Bever. She explained that the consensus was that I must have picked up a bad pathogen that caused the cells in some of my lymph nodes to die and possibly create a mass in my lungs. At this time, they do not believe the mass in my lungs actually is a tumor or cancerous. She is setting up another CT scan this month to see if it has shrunk or even disappeared. If it has grown, then they will meet again to discuss next steps. I can do the scan locally so at this point, no more drives back to Duke! YAY!

Although I should be celebrating, I am however, still feeling a bit uneasy. I still have that nagging voice in my head of that Doctor back in Virginia who called me on that Friday back in early May while I was in South Carolina who said "I am sorry to inform you that you have lung cancer and it looks like it has moved into your lymph nodes". How does one recover from that? I guess I will need to learn how to one day as it definitely sent me down a horrible, emotional and stressful journey for 3 months. But, I will say, I am so thankful for all of you who have stuck by my side through all of this. I could not have gotten through this without you. You cheered me on, gave me so many positive vibes and so many prayers. I am a damn lucky girl to have such a wonderful circle of friends and amazing family. I don't think a day goes by that I thank God for having you all in my life!

This will be my last post on this blog unless something crazy happens. Please remember that I am here for each and every one of you. If you ever need me, reach out to me and I will be there as you were for me. Lots of Love and Happiness!
